Young girls around the world, and even here in the United States, will miss school because they do not have the necessary monthly sanitary supplies.
Team Compassion, led by Edna Kenslow, is a group dedicating itself to changing that. Over the next six months (maybe longer) and with the help of donations of time, fabric and money, the Team will create supplies that can be laundered and reused, allowing the girls to keep up with their classes and classmates! Adolescence is hard enough, a few hours of our time could make a big difference in a young girl’s life!
Team Compassion will meet on Mondays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Bring a sack lunch. Come for the whole time … come for whatever time your schedule allows! This is an ongoing project. The workroom is across from the Seekers’ classroom.
If you can sew, or use a rotary cutter, or use scissors, or can sort fabric, or want to learn to use the device that attaches the snaps – come Monday!! Come any Monday. If you have fabric (terrycloth, flannel, fleece, cotton or cotton blends) or thread to donate – bring them to the church. They WILL be used!
If you have questions, please contact Edna Kenslow (email: firstname.lastname@example.org or 816-377-2240). She has all the answers!!
*** Mark your calendars now to be at the Team Compassion workroom on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Monday of each month from 10:00 – 3:00. ***
